We stayed in the one bedroom studio next to the carport which was very comfortable. It has a microwave, toaster and kettle - enough to be able to make your own breakfast. The outlook was lovely and it was a 5 minute drive to either Clyde or Alexandra. The Courthouse Cafe in Alex and Olivers in Clyde are great for coffee, breakfast or lunch. The small Alexandra airport is very close and we did an amazing flight to Milford Sound and back with a fantastic, experienced pilot Nick Taylor. His number is +(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
Karen's place was modern, comfortable and cosy with gorgeous surrounding views of the Otago landscape. They were very hospitable and gave us great advice on what to do and where to eat in the area. We would definitely stay again!
Accommodation is located in picturesque location well situated between Clyde and Alexandra. We stayed 2 nights and took advantage of the bike trails in the area to visit the small vineyards in the area. The accommodation was quite cozy; almost a bit too if planning to make use of the self catering. The private outside space was spacious and beautiful for grilling, just a bit chilly to eat if the wind picks up or early in the morning. Karen and Mick were lovely and generous with recommendations in the area for vineyards to visit. Mick even shared his home brew beer with my husband. Only area for improvement would be wifi in the accommodation. Can connect outside in front but not inside: difficult when relying on internet for travel plans. The view and landscape made up for it.
One of the greatest Airbnb places we have stayed in NZ which is very quiet and peaceful. Self contained, and awesome and open view in front of the room, and has own outdoor area with tables and chairs, very private, and you could even cook BBQ if you want to. Shower is very hot and quick. Warm and comfortable inside as well as the beddings. Friendly hosts! and it's easy to drive to town and shopping. Enjoyed the biking very much and the track can actually start from here to Alexandria and come back. Highly recommend!
It is an amazing place in Central Otago close to wineries, Wanaka (50 min), Queenstown (1h15 min) but quiet and peaceful. Studio's doors/windows open to a gorgeous view of New Zealand green hills. It is just amazing. Either watching the scenery from your bed or from the private aria you have outside. And the stars. Apparently we've never seen those in our European travels :) Karen and Mika are extremely kind and pleasant people to talk, Mika gave many good tips on our travels. I really consider this place a hidden gem. So peaceful and isolated and yet full of interesting activities nearby. The place itself is a super comfortable compact studio, super neat with towels, necessities and even bathrobes provided. Fridge, kettle, gas BBQ. The bed is very comfortable and the linens are white and crispy. Us and our 2 months daughter felt so welcome, she has even got a memorable lil sheep, thank you Karen! I hope we come back at your place one day. Dina, Alex and Olivia
Like one of the other reviewers I found Karen's place to be one the best, if not the best place I've stayed at so far. Everything is immaculate starting from the cleanliness, atmosphere, quality and decor. Her place is great for relaxing at and is stellar in every way imaginable. Karen was very flexible and left the music on, and the light on for us during our late arrival.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful part of NZ. A great place for rest and relaxation or exploring central Otago.
